The Annual Edgewater Glen Garden Walk seems to like falling on the hottest weekend of the summer, but no matter that, we Barslows persevere! Our after hours Garden Walk Cocktail Party was, I think, a hit. Good thing we had it catered...
Just kidding. Mother, Sister, and I pulled this together despite the difficult absence of Alex, who is not only a great cook, but a marvelous plater. Sister held her own when it came to salads and plating this year...
Sister made a hit with these grilled baguette with brie and berries...
There were a couple of new recipes on the list this year. One hit was the Shrimp BLT inspired by my recent trip to the Low Country...
Mother also made a Shrimp and Cornbread Stuffed Pablano Pepper...
I also grilled this year...
One favorite was the spare ribs (If you ask me, better flavor that baby backs...) with a horseradish mustard finish...
I also served a peach and purple onion chutney with the ribs...
I also grilled lamb sickles, prawns, and veggie kabobs that Cordelia and Maxwell assembled for me. They were such a help...
And snickerdoodle vanilla ice cream sandwiches for desert (Sister also made a very popular granita, but I failed to get pictures of it.)...
The biggest change this year, though, had to be the addition of the Little People...
They were everywhere...
If you ask me, there's something in the water, or the beer in this case...
Notice anything out of the ordinary?
